There was a casualty to the bombing yesterday. A boy named Danny Fenton was mailed a bomb, and Cobra Commander has threatened to take us out for getting in his way. He doesn't know the Corps exists, but be on your guard regardless. Don't handle anything suspicious and avoid traveling alone at all costs until we can deal with him and whoever else he may be working with. Avoid mentioning us in public, as well. We'll need every advantage we can get for as long as we have it.

[Anyone who seeks Lightning out today will find her in her room at the Inn, flitting between a pad of paper on the desk and the bag she's packing. The paper is covered with notes that are easy to read and the bag is smartly packed, so it's a sharp contrast to Lightning who looks a bit...frazzled in comparison to her normal self. Someone seems just a bit out of her element for some reason.]

I am working on taking care of him personally.

[Everyone needs someone to help them pack, unless they're Lightning. Leon is mostly tending to his own things, folded shirts tucked neatly into his traveling bag. He looks Lightning over, eyes dark.]

You all right?

[Well, of course, she isn't all right, considering--but hey, it's his job to ask. Light's solid; she doesn't buckle under this sort of pressure.]

And if he takes you out because you decided to go after him alone? What then?

[It had been quiet for Hope. Until this had happened. Since then he'd slipped back into his old self. Cautious, wary and ready to help at a moments notice. With his pokémon of course.]

I'm ready to leave when you are. I packed up my stuff this morning.

He will do no such thing. Besides, I have something of value he seeks. So long as I have that, he will go after me and me alone. I am hoping to draw him out for capture.

[She's still flitting about between the desk and the bag, but his voice makes her stop, pinching the bridge of her nose. She doesn't buckle, and she's not buckling. She's just...bending. A little.]

Yeah. I just...I thought we'd have more time before this kind of thing started happening.

[This kind of thing being civilian casualties. She was prepared to get hurt herself handling this, but someone not involved? Not used to that.]

You can't say that for sure. And why didn't you inform others of this plan of yours? You need to have a back-up plan in case it fails and you're out of options.

[They'd all slipped back into old habits with yesterdays events, truly. The peace had been broken and it was time to march back into fighting, whether or not they were ready for it.]

[He smiles a little bit, and thumbs his pouch where the pokéballs are kept.]

I do not take unnecessary risks. Informing others would be opening myself up to having them get involved and risk revealing this organization to Team Rocket. Really, do you wish for Xion or Lacus to try to stand up to someone this man may send? Do not make the mistake of judgment based on my appearance. That is a poor decision for our enemies to make, not us. As for being out of options. I do not think such a thing is a possibility in this realm.

Saber, I did not assign you to lead a squad so you could run off without at least warning them of your plans. We're in this together, like it or not, and they knew the minute they joined that there were risks involved. We all did.

I'm not judging you by your appearance. I'm judging your course of action and how much good it's going to do you or the rest of this world. If your team is knocked out, you're wounded, and he has you at his mercy, what do you intend to do? Would you say you still have options then?

I know. [She smiles in return, remembering what else they lived through, before she shakes her head.] Doesn't mean we can't be cautious and ready for anything.

I know. I wasn't saying we should slack off.

[He sighed.]

I guess it's kind of hard to take that there's still people like that even in a world like this.

Yes. For as long as I refuse to give up, there will always be another option. It may not be the best one according to others, yet if it leads to a victory all the same, then it will be my decision and my decision alone to make. If it would set your mind at ease, I will inform them of my plans, but do know I am not doing this alone. I am only giving the impression that I am so that I can lead them closer. Yes, I think I will send them a message today as well. Instead of arguing over my own behavior, let us focus instead one this bombing. There is ignorance in my mind over the subject. [ She's a king from the twelfth century, not a rocket scientist. ] How are they creating these weapons and getting them out? You mentioned by mail?

Your decision, but it affects us all. If he manages to get information out of you somehow, don't you think that would come down on the rest of us even if you go alone? At least if you tell someone, we won't be surprised to find a mob on our doorsteps if something goes wrong.

[But, yes, enough about that. The bombs are a rather pressing matter as well.]

I don't know how they're made. You'd be better off asking Athrun Zala about that; he's the one who kept nearly all of them from blowing up. As for how they got the one they did to Danny, yeah, it was mailed. Same way any other package would be. He didn't even think it wasn't a present from a friend.

Where are we headed next?

[ It hardly does in Saber's mind. Everything she does is with caution and she's even careful enough to have a Pokemon ready to flee with her PokeGear should the time come. The instinct she has for battle keeps her well alert and prepared.

The other woman is right though.

She owes it to the others to inform them of her decision and that taking this man on by herself may lead to serious consequences. This means she'll have to rethink her strategy a bit more. ]

This is disadvantageous to us as a whole. If it cannot be determined how they are crafting these weapons or how they are sneaking them into the mail, then we have a lot more about this organization to uncover. [ And the one person Saber knew of through Merlin had a number that no longer worked: a sign of their departure from Johto. ] If I can slow the attacks down by keeping Cobra Commander busy, then I will continue to act in this manner. If it seems reckless and serves no benefit, I shall cease with this. Is that acceptable?

[Too much Hope--oh, bb-bro you're getting a hair fluffle for that. You and your naming puns.]

Goldenrod first, then up to Ecruteak or Olivine. Need to be prepared and there's a place we can regroup there. Best option we have right now.

[Having her pokemon scram with the Gear is all well and good, but Lightning meant that if Cobra got information out of Saber herself. Everyone has a breaking point, and his full capabilities aren't known yet.

They do indeed have much left to learn.]

As far as I know, bombs can be put into any container and the mail isn't checked. They could have had a flying type drop it off where they knew Danny would be and waited to see what happened. They wouldn't have to use the official system.

[Almost no one does anymore. As for the inside man, well, they may still have one. Maybe.]

And so long as you warn your squad, or myself and Ventus, before you move on Cobra Commander for whatever reason, it's fine. I'm sure he'll be expecting you if you have something he wants and he knows about it.

I think so too. We need to be careful... maybe set up a camp somewhere outside the city? So we don't endanger people I mean.

[He sighs. He doesn't really want to deal with that one again.]

I just hope people don't turn on us. Start thinking that we're attracting disaster. We need to stay on top of peoples perceptions of us if we don't want to become L'Cie for Johto.

[He'd clearly spent some time thinking about this. He wanted this to work out before the group became the scapegoat. It was easy to label a group for justice as vigilantes.]

We might have to, if Team Rocket or Cobra find out that it's not just a handful of people standing against them.

[Just...scrubbing her face now. No one likes to be endangering folk, or living outside the law, but...]

The natives never react to anything around them, and with everything that's happened, off-worlders may call us the lesser of two evils and leave us be. If they don't...[Sigh and she shakes her head.] If they don't, we'll just have to find a place to hide and wait it out. Fighting back's not going to help this time.

[She looks up at him after he says that, reminded that despite his maturity he's really only fourteen. Of course he wouldn't want to be hated. Who would, really?]

I know you don't. None of us do. [She reaches over, putting a hand on his shoulder and squeezing gently.] You're not alone in this, Hope. We're here. Remember that, okay? We'll get through this, together.

I know you're all here. I haven't forgotten that in the past day or so.

[He chuckles.]

I've made more friends too Lightning. I know you're all here if I need something. I just... want to make sure that people knew what my concerns were.
