When you've been in this world long enough to see and do everything it has to offer, what's left? How do you spend the rest of your time here when there's nothing left to do?

I find that learning trades and crafts you'd not have the time to pursue at home is a good way to stave off boredom. The problematic part would be finding one that interests you, of course.

We're doing well. We'll likely be in Olivine within the week.

You know where to find the spare house key when you get there. I'll catch up before the month is over. Maybe sooner if Odin keeps pushing himself like this.

And if the only thing that interests you is combat, which this world frowns on? What would you suggest in its place?

This world dislikes human combat, but it has its share of martial artists. It mudt be possible to take formal lesson or offer to give them, depending on your ability. Informal sparring with sturdy tree branches also works, as long as you can find an opponent you trust.

[Goodness, he hasn't tried that since the Warrior of Light left. It's been too long since he had a good fight.]

When you believe you have done everything there is to do in a world it's time to sit back and think about whether or not you've actually done everything. Or if you've only done the 'neat, shiny, popular things'. Every world has more to offer than one lifespan can hold and experience, if one were truthful.

However if one is simply bored, that is another kettle of fish.

You can't have done everything.

Go explore a new area. Learn a new skill. Become better than you were yesterday.

But don't try to become a Gym leader, that's my goal.

Tell that to someone who hasn't been here for three years. To someone who hasn't already seen all of Johto and Kanto. Maybe it'll do them some good.

And two or more people can't have the same goal? There's sixteen gyms. Plenty of room for more than one person to go towards the same end.

All of it. Every little bit? That's kind of hard to believe.

But if you want to be a leader, you'd better be ready to challenge me for it. I don't know who you are, but there's no way you've done everything there is to do here. Even if you were born here, you can't have.

What did you want to do when you first got here? Besides try to get home, everyone tries that.

With a blizzard, you wouldn't be able to leave until it settled anyway. And being en-route is the worst situation to be in that kind of weather.

Simple: you just live your life. Not everything needs a set goal or timeframe in mind. I notice a lot of people seem to forget that.

Not quite a blizzard but enough snow that anyone sensible would have stayed put for the winter.] Which is why I want to be down south before it can roll in on us again. Such as? Getting the badges is useless, and there's only so much training a team can handle before they won't learn anything else from it. Getting home by choice is also impossible, so what's left to do?

i will admit this world might be "smaller" than some of us are used to but i think possibilities are only as limiting as you see them to be!

Everything that we have access to as off-worlders, at any rate. I doubt the rest of it's any more impressive.

Let me ask you something, then: if you don't know who I am, how can you be sure I haven't done everything there is to do here? I've trained myself and my team, tried to get home, and lost people faster than they came back. Other than build a house myself, there's nothing else I can think of doing that I haven't already done.

[Holding a steady job in one city? Easy. Paying rent on a pre-built house? Easy. Figuring out what to do with herself? Not so much.]

And if it really is having done everything? Badges are useless. Breeding just causes more problems, and jobs take care of any money you need to explore a world this small.

This isn't boredom. This is having done everything that this world lets us do.

Living without a reason to live isn't much of a life. If you don't have something to do, some reason to fight, what's the point?

You say that like there's a lot of people left here who know how to fight at all. Teaching a few how to use a sword and then sparring with them isn't the same as coming in with years of combat experience, you know. Unfair fights don't do anyone any good at this point.

[Not when it's meant to be friendly sparring, and not a fight for the right to exist...or, you know, to not end up in a Center all night.]

I am not an advocate for this world's terrorists, but that would certainly be something to do if you haven't.

I doubt they take people who've done nothing but fight against them for the past three years.

Though I guess you've got a point. Toppling them is something I haven't done yet, either.
