006 [Accidental Video/Action for Goldenrod]

[The feed opens to a field of white this afternoon. It looks like one of Goldenrods mostly empty streets, with one exception.

The sound of hooves.

Has Santa and his herd of Stantler come early this year? Nope, it's just....ODIN!? He's not so little anymore, that's for sure. If anything, he seems to be tall as Lightning now, with a horn sprouting from his forehead and fire all down his back instead of just his mane and tail.

And speaking of Lightning...if you can see past the camera's gentle bobbing, you'll see she's riding him, attempting to get a feel for how different this is from a Chocobo. No saddle, no reins. Just her and her horse, in the empty streets of Goldenrod.

Up until she notices the Gear is on, though. Have a ghostly laugh, Route. Seems her Gastly got into her things again.]

Oh, give me that. Should name you Fang or something.

[And with that, the feed clicks off. Anyone wants to run into these three? They'll be in the streets for a while.]

[Feferi laughs again. It's not exactly rocket science to figure out what that look's for.] It's just something that I do! I lived underwater, back home!

[Okay, now that makes sense.]

I'm guessing you had a way to breathe under water. [Becuase humans certainly can't.]

Yes, I had gills! Fins, too. [She puts the heels of her hands on her temples, and waves her hands back and forth.] Like this! I could live on land too, but I liked being underwater a lot more!

[Well, with other worlds having humans on them, who's to say they don't have other types of life, too?]

What was it like? Living underwater. [Whoops, there goes Odin with a snort. Live underwater? Why would anyone even want to do that?]

Well... I don't know where to start! ...Oh! My cuttlefish! I kept them as pets, lots and lots of them! They're so colorful and adorable!

[For a minute, Lightning is reminded of the old fairy-tales her mother read to her as a child, and she smiles faintly]

I bet they make good friends.

They were always swimming through the bars of their cages, but that's okay! They always stayed around my hive. There was also my lusus! She was the size of one of your human cities! But that's good, because she was able to protect me really easily. I didn't have to worry about any threats with her!

[Something about the way that sounds; a large thing protecting a smaller thing, reminds her of Snow and Serah, and she smiles faintly.]

You could rest easy with her on duty, huh?

Yep! Nobody bothered me while she was around. I'm really lucky I had her! I'd have faced a lot of threats for sure!

[...and another memory of Snow. The damn lug just had to run off.]

It sounds like she really cared about you.

[Oh, you have no idea.]

She did, and I cared about her too! I had to feed her, to keep her voice down. I really really miss her, but I'm a little relieved about not having to worry about that anymore!

[She has some idea.]

Yeah, I can understand why.

What about you? Did you have anyone you took care of?

[Lightning looks down, smiling fondly to herself before she answers.] My little sister. We didn't have time to care for pets, but we took care of eachother.

I see. You must be really close!

We are. [All they have left is eachother. Something like that.]

I'm really glad to hear it! I don't have any brothers or sisters, so I don't know what that's like.

[She pauses for a moment, wondering how to explain this.] It's like...it's almost like having someone you would die for, even if you fight and don't get along sometimes.

[So it's... kind of like the remaining trolls. They're all their race has left.] I... think I understand.

[Have a nod.] You'd do anything for eachother, even if sometimes...all you want to do is fight. That's...kind of what being a sibling means.

I'm glad you can tell me about it.

You're welcome. [If you'd asked about 5 months ago she'd have been all "....yeah, no. not saying."]

[Feferi's timing is awesome, clearly. She's quiet for minute or two. She wants to talk Lightning at least a little more, but she doesn't want to seem like she's brushing the subject off.]

...What's your world like?

[Lightning herself is quiet for a long moment, trying to think of how to word this, as well.]

It's...different. My world is...well, was called Cocoon. It was this floating sphere in the sky, and we were trapped in it.
