013 [Video/Action for Goldenrod Pokemon Center]

[It's known to quite a few people that Lightning has been sleeping for a week now. What isn't quite as well known, however, is that her Lucario hasn't left her room no matter which human is at her side. So when the gear clicks on to show Lightning still sound asleep, there's the edge of a black paw on the feed. That pretty much clenches who's recording this.

Recording what, you may ask? Well, just watch the human on the bed as she slowly comes back to the world of Johto. She blinks for a bit, obviously still half asleep, before she slowly raises a hand to her forehead.]

Fal'Cie...

[And, before she can say anything else, Lightning is tackled by her Lucario. Over the happy yips and other noises he's making, the sound of the gear clattering to the ground isn't heard by anyone in the room.]

M-Mm..? [Serah stirs from the roll out bed next to Lightning's as she hears very loud noises. Eventually, she comes to and sits up, looking around.]

Light.. it's you.. [She says this sleepily, rubbing her eyes.]

[wait. Light. She was up. After a moment, Serah realizes this and her eyes immediately widen.] L-Light?! Y-You're.. you're awake!

[Too busy getting Sen to get off her, Lightning nearly gets whiplash looking over at Serah. When it finally kicks in that she's in Johto again, Lightning looks like she's about to cry.

Well. As much as Lightning can look that way.]

Serah.

[Serah actually IS crying. Tears of pure happiness. She rolls off the cot and clumsily runs over to hug her elder sister.]

Light I was s-so worried.. I-I thought you were going to leave or-- I didn't know!

[Crying Serah is a baaaaad thing. So Lightning will just hug her right back. Might be a little tighter than normal, but she's not saying a word about that.]

It's okay. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere.

Y-You better not go anywhere! I thought I'd die from worrying if you were going to be okay! And you are! So I'm not letting you out of my sight!

[That's a nod, and...yep. She just squeezed Serah tighter. Something's definitely wrong, but Light's not speaking anymore.]

S-Someone told me... that when you fall asleep for a long time, you dream about something... what did you dream about..?

[At that, Lightning inhales sharply. Should she tell Serah? Or should she make something up so she won't worry? ...no. Serah has a right to know, but...Fal'Cie, this isn't going to be easy on either of them.]

I'm not sure if I should tell you, Serah. It wasn't just a dream.

[Serah pouts up at her sister and pulls back from the hug, crossing her arms.]

I want to know.

[Lightning hesitates, then swallows to clear a lump in her throat and speaks quietly.]

I was summoned to fight in a war. My allies and I...we were on the losing side. In order to buy the others some time to keep fighting, I led a small group to an enemy stronghold. [Now Lightning sighs, hand curling at her chest.]

None of us survived that fight.

[and for a while, there's silence. Serah... doesn't know what to do. what to say.]

So you... [She can't say it. She can't say it. She can't say it.] died..?

[A nod; Lightning can't meet Serah's eyes at all, even after she speaks.] Yeah.

So that means... if you leave... [tears start to brim at her eyes.]

If I leave...I won't be going home. [There. It's been said. There's nothing else she can do.]

[This renders Serah silent as tears begin to stream down her face. The only sound is the occasional heavy breathing coming from her.] ....

[It doesn't take long for Lightning to decide to get out of bed, and even though she tumbles to her knees right away due to how shaky her legs are after a week of not moving, she manages to get her arms around Serah and pull her into a tight embrace.

She's never been as good at this comforting thing as their parents were, but...well, she's certainly going to try. There really is nothing else she can do to make this easier.]

[though Serah doesn't immediately embrace her elder sister back, she sobs into her shoulder. After a moment, though, she does wrap her arms around the other's back, and squeezes her tight, almost like if she let go, she'd fly away.]

[If Lightning was going to float away, it wouldn't be while she was in this room. She's hanging onto Serah far too tightly for that to happen.]
