soggypastry: (desperate)
[The feed clicks on suddenly and to harsh breathing, Lightning white as a sheet and her shoulders heaving as she is clearly trying to catch her breath. There's loud roaring in the distance somewhere behind her, and she casts a glance over her shoulder and the tree she's bracing herself against, before she returns her attention to the camera.]

If anybody's watching this, stay out of Ilex. There's something in here that won't hesitate to kill you. I think I've almost got it down, but--[Whatever else she's going to say gets cut off as she whirls around, just in time for the camera to catch this cleaving the tree just above her head, and she goes down with a cry of shock. The gear clatters to the ground in time to see her scramble as the creature roars, clearly trying to cut her down the middle with that sword.

But it doesn't get the chance. There's a tremendous crack and a different kind of roar, the roar of thunder, right as a bolt of lightning crashes down on the monster as if the heavens themselves just launched a bolt down at the horrid thing, before everything glows a rosy pink and rose petals drift through the air. The gear vibrates, shaking wildly until it spins and the angle changes to show the creature roaring in anger as it faces down something it wasn't expecting.

A target that fights back.

In the ensuing battle of blades and lightning, the gear shuts off when someone, or perhaps something, steps on it. Lightning might not be coming back for that gear for a while.]
soggypastry: (hands on hips)
[Morning, Johto. Have some eggs, and a rather annoyed sounding Lightning.]

It turns out that leaving any of my team alone for so much as a single night is a bad idea. [sigh, and she turns the camera to face the eggs again. There's various patterns on the shells, some pink, some a burnt orange, others blue and black and the last pair brown. They're all paint splattered, but seem to be intact.]

From the patterns, I think these are Cleffa, Eevee, and Vulpix eggs. I know these are Riolu eggs. [she taps them in turn as she speaks, specifing the ones she means as she goes.]

They're going for a thousand a piece, and I can deliver if you're in Olivine--

[She pauses in mid-sentence there, and it's possible to hear some high whinnying over the distant sound of the ocean. The camera shifts as she pads outside to the veranda, showing bright sand and two black and white striped eggs nestled in it, along with an angry Zebstrika and a practically sheepish looking Rapidash before she sees them herself.]

Odin, what are you...

[she stops, gear still in hand as she peers over the railing and onto the sand to where her trusty steeds are staring each other down, and Thundaga's not happy. Odin squeals as Thundaga chases him down the beach, sparking the entire way, and Lightning? Well, she just sighs. You have got to be kidding.]

Add two more to that count. Blitzle. [she shakes her head with a frown, and end feed. Somepne's got a horse to rescue.]

[ooc: there's still some eggs available here!]
soggypastry: (run for it!)
[Good day, Pokemon World. I hope you like ice, because that's what you're getting on this fine crazy morning. Or rather, a nice view of the Ice Cave from the mouth of an Arcanine, whining in discomfort as she slides her way across the icy paths beneath her paws. Why's she doing that? Well, she's just following her trainer, who is easily spotted by the black leather jacket and pink hair tumbling down her shoulders as she attempts to walk across the ice but skates more than she steps. Where is Lightning going? Well, she's got a steed to rescue.]

Odin, stay there!

[Odin, trapped on a patch of snow that's barely big enough to hold him steady, can only toss his head and snort in impatience, Pokeball moving at his feet as he shifts from side to side, clearly wanting off the ice and wanting off now. Lucky tries to follow in Lightning's footsteps, but one misstep sends the giant firedog slipping like a newborn Deerling across the ice. Momentum carries her into Lightning, who goes down with an "oof", and while Lucky manages to dig her claws in to stop herself, Lightning she can't get her feet back under her in time to avoid falling down a hole in the ice. She manages to grasp onto the edge as Odin whinnies in concern and Lucky barks for her, but she's slipping. Help her out before she falls? Force her down? Your call, but that's a pretty long way down!]
soggypastry: (battles rage on)
[Morning, bright and early. The cries of sea-pokemon are all that break the silence, and anyone along a coast line would sleep right through that....up until there's a distinct Pikachu yawn, anyway. Spark's playing Camerachu again, but what's he recording?

His trainer, barefoot on the sand in her work-out clothes and no cast on her previously broken ankle. What's she doing out there at such an unbearably early hour? Training. Or rather, a series of kicks and flips that look like they should be impossible, but she manages up until the landing, which she can't quite stick as her heel goes out from under her on the dry sand and she tumbles to land flat on her back with a "whump" of an impact. She lays there for a minute, dragging her hands down her face, before she forces herself up in a backwards roll and dusts sand from her legs. As if this is some kind of cue, Spark chatters and bolts to her side, dislodging the gear from wherever it was and ending the video with a clatter.]

Team Rocket has a list of people they want taken out. The known people on that list are: Athrun Zala, Shinn Asuka, Emmy Altava, Minnie Mouse, Crow Hogan, and myself, Lightning Farron. Whether or not this has changed since I found out isn't something I can be sure of at the moment, but you needed to know this. Team Rocket isn't above attacking people when they're down, so stay out of trouble and be aware of your squadmates. Don't count anywhere as safe until we can be absolutely sure things have started to clear up again.

If you hear anything about what they might be planning, contact either this number or Ventus as soon as you can, but don't rush into things alone. None of us are working alone, and acting like you are will only make things harder for you and for the rest of us.

[Private Text to: Emmy Altava]
Did you manage to get a chance to talk to Kimblee yet? Did he have anything to say about what happened in Olivine?
soggypastry: (jarred)
I said get out of the way!

[Morning, Johto. Enjoy your very early morning wake up call. No, seriously, it's early. The sun's not even up-early. Lightning normally sleeps through this time of day, so why is she on the network? ...Well, she's not exactly on it by choice. Her Pokemon have the gear again, and it's showing that a nurse is trying to stop a very pale and rather shaky Lightning from leaving the Center, but considering she's dressed and with a pair of Lucario's at her side, she's not going to be stopped. At all.]

Miss Farron, if you'll just calm down--

Calm down? I just spent the past six hours puking my guts out while you ran around like headless chocobos trying to fix a problem that shouldn't have happened, and you expect me to calm down? [She scoffs at that, moving to shove past, but the nurse bars her passage yet again.]

Miss Farron, the poison is still affecting your body. If you'd sit down and let us help-

[Now Lightning snarls, and it's still rather intimidating despite looking like she's going to fall at any second.]

Help? Like when you somehow didn't notice someone go into my room in the middle of the night and let this happen? I don't need your help. I can handle this myself.

[The nurse aims to protest again, but Lightning doesn't listen and she goes around, hobbling out of the Center on crutches while not looking back even as the feed shorts out with a startled "Pika!". It never comes on again, but those who go out looking for her will find her on the porch of Minnie's house, sitting on one of the chairs with her head in her hands, that pair of Lucarios and a Pikachu nearby so she isn't alone. She really doesn't look well, either, so their concern is probably warranted.]

[ooc: due to plottings, Lightning spent the night badly poisoned and is now rather freaked out because, well, no idea who did it! :3 My thanks to both Cobra-mun and Kimblee-mun for this plot, it's been fun!]
soggypastry: (fate stepped in)
tl;dr action for those who want to visit her. )
Leon's gone. He said to tell you he was sorry.

[Private text to: Ventus]
Can you come by for a minute? I need your help with something.
soggypastry: (-______-)
[Normally there would be some kind of comment from Lightning about this, being that she currently has her memories of this being the fourth time things have gone to chaos in a handbasket, but instead of that, her gear feed is focused on something else in the Center room she still occupies; something that Sen is pawing at in curiosity. It appears to be a regular old Clefairy doll, but the moment that Sen gets close enough to sniff it, it giggles and transforms into something else entirely. Something that sends Sen skittering back in surprise and has Lightning blinking.

Not that she has time do much of anything about it, though; the creature is already forming pink bubbles and launching them everywhere, bouncing on one and sending the rest bouncing across the room, walls and ceiling included. Sen immediatly starts yipping in amusement, chasing and popping bubbles, while the Skitty that had been on Lightning's lap does the same. The creature continues to giggle and make more bubbles for the two mons to chase, and Lightning? Well. She just smiles and watches for a bit. It could be a lot worse, right?

Definitely could be a lot worse, especially since the creature is floating in front of Lightning's face now, blowing a small bubble that pops right in Lightning's face and makes her jump, soft amusement now replaced by a most definite lineface as the creature nearly falls over itself laughing, Sen and the Skitty doing the same no matter the looks she gives them. Anyone coming in for a visit is likely to get the same treatment, so watch out. At least it's friendly, though! That's good, right? ....Right?]
soggypastry: (dead)
[First the trash and sludge come to life, then the fog keeping anyone from seeing more than five feet in front of their faces rolls in. It would have been enough to drive anyone up the wall, and it certainly did that to Lightning. It was why she'd left the city, trying to get a better vantage point and see just what else they were dealing with.

That was, of course, before the storm hit and turned visibility to less than zero. That was before the gear turns on, showing her face, lips pressed in a tight line as she stands with her back to a tree as the harsh rain plasters her hair and clothes to her skin. She's not happy about this, that's for sure. She didn't turn the gear on by accident, though, because she opens her mouth to say something, but then the screen shakes in time with a low tremor just as she turns, seemingly ready to move somewhere else.

It's not enough of a tremor to knock anything over, but the muddy ground is already slick and Lightning stumbles, gear tumbling from her hand as she curses, trying to regain her balance. She doesn't have a chance to, however, before the very air itself turns a bright blue for what can't be more than half a second, and then the screen goes white with the insanely bright flash of lightning blocking out the camera with the glare and booming roar of thunder covering any sounds but a rumble almost as loud but on a different pitch. It sounds almost like something fell, but...what's out there to fall?

Trees. When the lightning dissipates and the screen returns to normal about a minute later, it's obvious a few trees have fallen over for some reason, most likely a bolt of lightning striking one and making it topple its neighbours. The most obvious one to topple was the one Lightning had been leaning on, so...where is she? Pinned under it. The angle the gear landed at makes it hard to see, but that is most definitely one pink-haired woman pinned hip to shoulder under a decently heavy looking tree, and she's not moving. She doesn't move at all again while the feed continues, even as her Lucario and Haunter force out of their Pokeballs to try and help her, but eventually the rain soaks so deep into her gear that it shorts out, sputtering into static and going dark like a broken TV set.]

[ooc: video/text/audio replies ICly delayed by a few hours. Action for those in the area, and said folks should expect to be ambushed by the Pokemon she had with her as they drag you to help her, but be wary of fallen trees. It is hard to see out there!]
soggypastry: (not this way)
[Hi, Johto. Hve you been enjoying your...odd weekend? Hopefully so, because it's about to get weirder. Enjoy your view of Lightning hunched over a stove in the Cherrygrove Pokémon Center, stirring something in a pot. It's an odd sight, both with her hair twisted up into a messy bun and the fact that she's...actually cooking. Anyone who knows her knows that's not a good sign. Especially when she's starting to look a little bit frazzled.]

No, no, no...come on. Don't you dare burn.

[Yes, she's talking to her pot of...something. Unfortunately, this doesn't help her with the cooking and it's with a rather frustrated sound that she takes that pot off the stove, camera tracking her movements while she places it in the sink before scrubbing her face, leaving smears of chocolate down her cheeks as she takes a breath to regain her composure. Is she giving up? Not on your life.

She's just turning back to the counter, where there's enough ingredients for one more try along with a recipe book she's looking back at.]

You could always help, you know.

[A startled "Pika!" and...end feed. Spark still enjoys being Camera-chu, it seems.]
soggypastry: (breaking point)
[Hello, Johto; it's thankfully later than the last time this feed came on, but much noisier. The hustle and bustle of a Pokémon Center is pretty recognizable, as is Lightning's face as she prepares to speak; someone's got a phone call to make, only...there's a problem.]

"Excuse me. Miss Lightning Farron?"

Yeah. What is it?

"This arrived for you from a Mr. Hope Estheim this morning."

[The nurse wanders off, having delivered her package, and this leaves Lightning standing in the center of the lobby, gear still recording as it pings, recognizing the ball and the creature within as Alexander, Hope's Blastoise. Anyone watching will see her face change from surprise as she realizes that to resignation as there's no response other than the pre-recorded message that the number is disconnected when she tries to call her lil' bro. The message doesn't even end before her face falls, and she ends the feed.
However, about ten minutes later, there's a little text hitting the network. This is...familiar. Too familiar. Too painful, yet again, for her to say this face to face.]

Hope's gone home again.

[Yeeeep. Definitely familiar. She's going to be a hermit for a while this time, too. At least she's got a hotel room this time. Even if it's shared.]
soggypastry: (hands on hips)
[Morning, Johto. Have a clatter to start your day, for those of you who are late risers. Light's just packing up her bags and accidently dropped the thing, so she'll just be picking it up now to turn it off with a small headshake.

That is, of course, until Sen appears barely on screen, dragging an obviously stolen blanket down the hall. Lightning doesn't see him, but he returns just as she is about to shut off the gear. With a cheerful yip, the derpy Lucario begins to drag his trainer out of her room and into the hall, and this odd behavior startles her into following to see just what has his attention.]

Sen, what are you--oh. Fal'Cie...

[Through Lightning's fingers half-covering the camera, it's possible to see the open hall closet on the upper level of Minnie's House, and in the morning light coming in from behind Lightning, it's easy to see that Strike, Leon's Lucario, is contentedly curled around three black and blue eggs. She sleepily blinks as Sen wriggles his way to curl up behind her, the blanket that was obviously stolen from an unused bunk wrapped around the eggs, and Lightning sighs explosively.]

You have got to be kidding me.

[That said, she can't seem to move away for much longer than to call down the hall; Sen may be her problem, but Strike belongs to a certain man she is packing to move along with. A man who needs to get his butt over here, and fast. So she'll just be going to the banister and calling down the steps, gear still recording.]

Leon, can you come over here? We have a problem.

[And as soon as she's sure that the man she called has heard her, Lightning turns back to the closet and shakes her head again, shutting off the gear. This is the last thing they need right now.]
soggypastry: (look away)
Fire+Steel=Bad. )
[When the feed picks up again, anyone watching will be able to see Lightning outside the Inn, Odin standing up straight just beside her, grazing on what little is around as she gives him a very good brushing. It's easy to see something has her a little upset, but telling what it is isn't easy until the feed shifts, Spark having moved closer and letting those watching see the Eevee with her ears pinned against her head, paws over her snout.

Anyone who knew Sazh Katzroy should know that Eevee, so the sigh that comes from just off camera shouldn't be a surprise. Not from Lightning anyway, with all that's happened these past couple of weeks.

After all, Sazh was pretty much family to Lightning and Hope, and it's fine to be sad family's gone home even if she's happy for him.]

Sazh Katzroy is gone. He went home last week.

[With that said, Lightning reappears on the screen as she leans down, shutting off the gear without another word. Now that anger makes a bit of sense; her family just keeps getting torn apart, doesn't it?]
soggypastry: (gods forbid)
[This has been a terrible couple weeks for one ex-Sergeant Farron, between Serah, Sora, Vanille, and Snow disappearing and the altercation with Leon that she doesn't know what to think of, even after almost two weeks. And with the last bit of hope she'd been holding to get Hope and the others home gone because getting the badges won't get them home, Lightning...really has a lot to think on.

So it's really no wonder that she's got a rather distant look in her eyes as she watches her recently evolved Camera-Chu and the newest addition to her team, Vanille's Cleffa, as they chow down on their own food.

It's also obvious that she didn't turn on the gear without a reason, and she lifts it from where it's watching the two little ones eat to look more directly into the camera. When she does, it's possible to see that she's also making something more akin to human food on the stove behind her, but she's left it alone for a bit too long and anyone watching will see a puff of grey smoke rising from the pan.

Anyone who's cooked in a Pokemon Center kitchen will know that the kitchen smoke detector is directly above the stove. So that tiny puff of greyish smoke? Yeah, it's setting the thing off, causing the shrill sound to begin with no warning. Spark jumps and nearly fries the microwave behind him in his shock, and Lightning the Cleffa immediately starts looking around like there's a threat. The human Lightning, however, clenches her hands tight at the shrieky sound and the feed goes dark with.]

Private Voice Call to Rise Kujikawa )
soggypastry: (we're all so small)
[Good evening, Johto. Have some quiet little "Pi" sounds over a dull roar as the feed starts up, Spark the Pichu having gotten his paws on Lightning's gear while his trainer is away. To anyone who's spent time at it, it's obvious that the roar is the ocean, which answers where Lightning is as Spark moves aside, showing the pink haired ex-Sergeant crouched at the water line with her back to the gear.

So what's she doing at the shoreline? Hard to say because of the distance, but it looks like she just let something off into the water, and that something catches the light of the setting sun as it bobs and floats in the ocean. It's a bottle, and it seems to have a letter inside. By the time it's out of the strained sight of anyone watching this, Lightning has stood from her crouch and is coming back to the gear. She's barefoot and without her vest, but that doesn't do anything to change the slightly stern look she gets as she sees the gear is on, and she just shakes her head.

She doesn't say anything, or even appear to get truly angry that the gear is on, and she just sighs at Spark as he clambers up her arm while she dips to get the gear and shut it off without ever saying a word.]

Private Text to Leon )
soggypastry: (can't face this)
[The feed picks up on a sad little Teddiursa curled up on a bed in the Violet City Inn, and on the Pichu sitting by the bear's head as a Lucario crouches by them both. Anyone who knows Serah Farron knows that bear, so why's he so sad and why's this feed coming from Lightning's gear?

Simple.]

Serah's gone.

[Simple message is simple and to the point, and Lightning cuts off the feed there.]

Private Voice Call to: Hope Estheim )

Private Voice Call to: Snow Villiers )
soggypastry: (honestly)
[There's only one reason Lightning would have headed down to Azalea, and it's obvious as the feed turns on. No, she didn't head down for Sen to record himself, which is what he's doing at first due to some camera mishaps, but rather to get the Hive Badge from Bugsy. Sen manages to turn the camera on the gear around in time for the battle to begin, and it's almost immediately obvious from the look on Bugsy's face that this....is not what he expected.]

But at least it's not as bad as it could have been. )

[The feed picks up back outside the gym, with the gear in Lightning's hand as Odin peers over her shoulder and just watches. She doesn't look too pleased, but that is the Hive Badge in her other hand.]

Should have done this months ago. [She sighs, then turns towards the Pokemon Center before ending the feed. She's still on a distinctly tight schedule, after all.]

Private to Hope Estheim )

[ooc: mod permission for badge is get!]
soggypastry: (grrrrrr)
Get off!

Muuuuukkk!

[Yep, that's Lightning. The video has come on in time to see her struggling with something, and when then angle changes as her gear hits the ground, it shows that she's got one of these clinging to her, covering her entire left side and making it rather hard to move. It seems harmless enough, but it's not letting go and Lightning is not happy. Not one little bit.

The fact that she's got a laughing Haunter right behind her isn't helping either, and she gives Fang one of her best glares as she continues to try and pull free of the Muk. Not going so well, that. She could use some help, actually, if anyone's in the Goldenrod area.]

[ooc: help, laugh, troll, do whatever~ She's just outside the hotel, if anyone wishes to run into 'er.]
soggypastry: (jarred)
Rain rain go away )

[The video clicks on as Lightning's gear hits the ground, the camera turned up to face her and catch a...rather odd sight. Lightning is pretty much hunched over the arm of an attacking Sudowoodo before it lets her fall to the mud with a splash, and there's the sound of running footsteps as she drops off camera.]

Lightning!

[There's no response, and the gear times out to the sound of Snow fighting off a very stupid Sudowoodo.]
soggypastry: (knifepoint)
[With Snow in Johto now, Lightning has decided to go and get him before he can get lost again. And to do that, she needs a way to get past the Sudowoodo without having to rely on a water type that she doesn't have. To do that, she's heard that she needs to defeat the Goldenrod City Gym Leader.

That's why she's in the gym now, standing opposite Whitney. Spark the Pichu is manning the gear, standing between Serah and Hope who are seated on the bleachers and watching Lightning as she stands ready to fight Whitney.

...If Whitney ever wants to actually start the battle, that is. She's too busy giving Lightning a fashion rundown.]

And since when has Light ever followed that kind of advice? )

[ooc: badge is Mod approved~ Hope and Serah used with permission as well. ♥ Also, if your character has CR with her/has spoken to Light a few times and is in Golden, feel free to assume they were in the Gym.]
soggypastry: (acceptance)
[Hey, Johto. Enjoy that loud crash you're hearing, because it's only going to get louder and shatter the afternoon's relative calm. What was it? A crashing Skarmory, if the metallic screeching noise is anything to go by.

Of course, the video feed that suddenly comes on confirms that; Snow the Skarmory is hopping to his feet from where he'd crashed on the pavement, and a ball of running yellow fur can be seen just past him. Fang the Haunter is in direct pursuit of the yellow thing, and Lightning's boots cut across the feed a moment later.]

Fang, cut him off!

[The ghost seems to nod, but what, or who, is the "him"? That question is answered as the yellow thing runs right past the gear again. It's a Pichu, freshly hatched if the egg shell still half covering its head is anything to go by. It doesn't seem to be able to see anything at all, and one of its little paws catches on the cobblestone streets. This allows Lightning and Fang to catch up with it, and Lightning crouches down to remove the shell from its head.

After a moment of blinking in the newly bright light, it peers up at Lightning with wide eyes, then scampers up her arm with some quiet "Pi"s. After a moment of circling like some kind of cat would, the Pichu flops on Lightning's shoulder with an exhausted little sigh. She gives it a wry smile, then reaches over to pick up the gear, shutting it off in the process.]
