This is Lightning; leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
[ooc: Good for IC plotting or OOC contact if you can't nab me anywhere else. Just specify if IC or OOC, and what format for IC communication.]

Would you be willing to help out again? Or is one time enough risk for you?

Date: 2012-10-09 03:43 pm (UTC)And is there anything else I should know about? We've all been kind of busy since we hit Kanto again.
[He probably should've alerted her that they were traveling in the first place, really. Cinnabar's a ways off from Johto, after all.]

Date: 2012-10-09 06:21 pm (UTC)I think you shouldn't be alone right now. Who else is with you besides Ven and Terra?
As for anything else, we have a few new people in the Corps, and someone was able to take Cobra down in a fair fight, but there's not much else to tell. Things have been quiet lately.]
[Which makes her nervous as hell, but she's trying to not let that leak out.]

Date: 2012-10-10 09:48 pm (UTC)It seems that Team Rocket has been working on a device that might be problematic in the future. For now, be careful around psychic types used by the team.
text | private
Date: 2012-10-10 09:59 pm (UTC)Do you know how it would be problematic, or who, exactly, has been working on it?
text | private
Date: 2012-10-10 10:19 pm (UTC)It's a device to power up Pokémons' power. Right now it only works on psychics, but they might develop it further.
Unfortunately, I didn't catch the creators' name. He seemed rather twisted when he talked about his project though.

Date: 2012-10-10 10:44 pm (UTC)Yeah, I saw that video earlier. I'm surprised the kid could handle Cobra's team. He's a pretty huge pushover, but he does have a few level 100s on his side.
text | private
Date: 2012-10-10 10:50 pm (UTC)They probably will. It's doubtful they'd stop with one type that has an obvious weakness, especially since Psychic types can be taken out with a Dark type Pokemon.
Twisted doesn't really cut down on the list, but I'll keep that in mind. May be more help than we know at some point.

Date: 2012-10-10 10:54 pm (UTC)Levels aren't everything. If you have a decent strategy, you can pull through with a weaker team. Just means it wouldn't be as easy as steamrolling through the opposition.
text | private
Date: 2012-10-10 10:58 pm (UTC)One other thing. I recently learn that apparently Team Rocket starters have something like a microchip implanted on them. I have no idea on the effects, however, since it wasn't explained.

Date: 2012-10-10 11:13 pm (UTC)Actually, a Corps meeting might be a good idea at some point, and I wouldn't mind dropping by Johto again for something like that. Got any idea where the other squads are located right now?
And it's true that levels aren't everything, but they do make a pretty huge difference. Cobra's problem is that his strategies are way too obvious. He just throws attacks one after the other, and since he shouts out his commands, it's way easier to tell what's coming next.
text | private
Date: 2012-10-11 02:14 am (UTC)The microchips could be to keep track of them, or to track the trainers they belong to. Keep track of their numbers or something; technology like that has a lot of uses.
[She's not sure which is worse, but the repercussions of this...it's going to be big when it all comes down.]
text | private
Date: 2012-10-11 02:21 am (UTC)That might be it. Though there was some talk about how the chips might affect their behavior. That could explain why mine keeps almost hitting me whenever I don't feel like training, but it might just be part of the Pokémons personality.

Date: 2012-10-11 02:44 am (UTC)I have some idea, but not for all of them. I doubt they'd all respond to a call for a face-to-face meeting, either. If they won't pick up the phone, they're not going to come running whenever we ask. Besides, having that many people in one place when Team Rocket has hits out on more than a couple of us is just asking for trouble.
So use Cobra's weaknesses to your advantage. There's no sense in playing fair or straight if he's not going to do it. Not with so much at risk.
text | private
Date: 2012-10-11 02:49 am (UTC)[Dude, just take it. She doesn't say thank you lightly.]
Maybe. I'll ask around and see what I can find out about microchips in general. Someone would have to know something about them.
text | private
Date: 2012-10-11 03:02 am (UTC)[Noted. Though while he doesn't seem to be too worried about his situation, he does sometimes think "what if I get caught".]
I will also see if I hear anything else about them. I imagine having a microchip on your Pokémon makes it difficult for anyone to leave this place, should they so desire.

Date: 2012-10-11 04:03 am (UTC)I guess, but that'd make it hard to spend time with them. ...Then again, I guess you guys are already in that boat, since we've been sticking to Kanto.
[Just, sigh, man. Riku's priorities are kinda ridiculous.]
...Right. Maybe a smaller meeting would work better. I'd be fine with bringing my friends along to hook up with you guys and plan things out-- but that all depends on what your agenda is in the first place. Either way, are you guys traveling on foot? Covering the whole region is no small task.
And I've already exploited Cobra's weaknesses before. My team basically wiped the floor with him last time, and he took off like a coward.

Date: 2012-10-11 06:39 pm (UTC)I guess so. But you get used to it after a while, and we have the gears. Makes it a lot easier to keep in touch when you can't be in the same city at the same time. Besides, you can always make plans to meet up somewhere.
[Eh, they'll straighten out in time. He's young. He's got years to figure out what's more important.]
We're on foot until Hope's flying type evolves so it can learn Fly and carry him. I'll let you know if things change after that, but it'll be a while before we can have any sort of meeting. I wouldn't hold my breath or make plans to come back anytime soon, if I were you.

Date: 2012-10-11 06:42 pm (UTC)If it's meant to track them and you can't get them out, it would be. Especially if the police somehow know and are watching for any Pokemon with a chip. The last thing you need when you're being hunted is to end up stuck somewhere and not be able to get out.

Date: 2012-10-11 06:48 pm (UTC)Well, I had plans to go catch a Bagon in Blackthorn. Think it'd be safer to stay around Kanto anyway? I don't even know what's pushing it too far since I wound up on Cobra's list.
But if it'll take a while to even meet up, I guess that's that. Besides, I can't go back and forth too much when I'm trying to open up the Training Center.
