Okay, if I somehow forgot to use an entire martial art, explain to e how I've been teaching it to my Pokemon? I mean, yeah, sure, I can't use glow blue and give myself superstrength anymore, but that doesn't mean it's not still useful.

As for the second, once she's sure he can't peak through the material, she points over her shoulder, gesturing to the light post directly behind them with a glance at the Monferno.]

[Granted, she's not really asking so much as doing already, having released a Rapidash to paw at the snow around them while he looks around curiously. Lightning steps up to his side, saying something quietly, and he tosses his head before whinnying loud enough for the sound to echo down the street.]

[She actually does give that a moment of thought, one hand on Odin's neck. The best way to really observe is from an outsiders perspective, and if she's deflecting hits or flipping this kid flat, that's no way to learn.]

Right, you heard the lady buddy. Give me a sec, Luna should probably see this..

[Ron releases his Riolu to watch, and both Ron and Frederick go out into the middle of the street, and bow to each other. Then the Monferno runs towards Ron, leaping to kick him in the chest. The kick connects, but rather than fall Ron somersaults, landing on all fours. He then sweeps his legs around, kicking Frederick's legs out from under him. The two combatants continue to leap monkey-like around each other, the most number of dodges, blocks, and connected strikes ending up in Ron's corner, before breaking away from each other and bowing once more.]

[They move so fast, it's almost hard to keep up with what's going on. But it's easy enough to tell that the style is designed around momentum and speed, and that it won't be easy to dodge. That's a good thing, and the look on her face is pensive now.]

You know, you never answered my original question. Regardless of your experiences back in your own world, this isn't going to be easy. Team Rocket has no qualms with attacking you directly if you piss them off, and they don't play fair. [She crosses her arms over her chest, fingers tapping her bicep] There's no backing out of this once you're in. Are you sure this is something you want to do?

[It's not like she tried to hide her number...or her voicemail inbox. After all, it's set to play whenever she doesn't answer a direct call. She is a bit surprised the next morning, when she sees that he left her a message, but after she hears it...Etro. She needs to nip this in the bud.]

[Laguna, at this point, had gone to work - so, he's taking a break to get back to important stuff. You may hear the sniffles of a Wooper near to him.]
Well, a bit of everything. But it's all kind of fuzzed, too. So, could you help me out a bit?

Well... [Laguna pauses, to think. Lightning, you just gave him a free pass on rambling about stuff you monster. He then clears his throat.]
The first thing I remembered was actually a few days ago - it was kinda fragmented, though, so I didn't think to call you. I was sitting there with Elle [the munna], when she coughed up some Dream Mist - and I saw myself with our group. We were lost - and you guys were blaming me.
[aw he remembers the start of the gameplay :3] But then, these strange things - Manicures? I think that's what they were. [laguna srsly] Anyhow, they all were appearing, and some other guys were there - can't really remember who - and me and Vaan fled together. Don't really remember much from after that - I mean, I met with the Cloud of Darkness - but it's a big blank until...
[He goes silent for a few moments.]
Until we tried to seal all the manicures away, and we beat those six for it. I remember passing out at the end, at least.
[There's a bit more silence.]
Don't really remember much else. I mean, I kinda remember something else? I'd given this guy a rose, and me and Squall had a bit of a chat... but that's really it.

[There's a moment of silence on Lightning's end as she tries to process all that, some tiny voice in the back of her mind going "never do that again you idiot" at her, but she still listens to everything he says.

She doesn't know the whole story of what happened to him, but it seems he doesn't either. Patchy memories are better than none, but...]

Manikins, Laguna. They were called Manikins. [Not manicures. Even she knows what those are.] They were our enemies in what was called the Conflict. Some war between gods that wasn't ever going to end. We got dragged into it, with our memories as the price. You, me, Vaan, Yuna, Tifa, and Kain.

[Some of whom she's never seen again. Hell, Laguna's been here twice already! But there's one last thing she needs to tell him.]

And we didn't pass out after sealing them away. We died.
