[Hi, Johto. Hve you been enjoying your...odd weekend? Hopefully so, because it's about to get weirder. Enjoy your view of Lightning hunched over a stove in the Cherrygrove Pokémon Center, stirring something in a pot. It's an odd sight, both with her hair twisted up into a messy bun and the fact that she's...actually cooking. Anyone who knows her knows that's not a good sign. Especially when she's starting to look a little bit frazzled.]

No, no, no...come on. Don't you dare burn.

[Yes, she's talking to her pot of...something. Unfortunately, this doesn't help her with the cooking and it's with a rather frustrated sound that she takes that pot off the stove, camera tracking her movements while she places it in the sink before scrubbing her face, leaving smears of chocolate down her cheeks as she takes a breath to regain her composure. Is she giving up? Not on your life.

She's just turning back to the counter, where there's enough ingredients for one more try along with a recipe book she's looking back at.]

You could always help, you know.

[A startled "Pika!" and...end feed. Spark still enjoys being Camera-chu, it seems.]

[There's just the slightest bit of amusement in her voice. Just a little.

Aqua hums to herself at seeing the recipe. Simple ingredients were good but, hmm.] Making chocolate from scratch isn't exactly the easiest thing to make. It's easy to burn and you need to have the portions right.

Is there anything else you can make, or... does it need to be chocolates?

[It's a question, except it isn't because as if, as if he ever misses important things, especially important Lightning-related things.]

[There are a bunch of things he wants to 'help' her with right at this moment, only a few of them involving chocolate, but it can wait. For her, he'll wait as long as it takes.

Besides, he's honestly not too bad with sweets.]

[ Fang shrugs even as she claims the pot and starts putting water in it. ]

Dunno how it works exactly, just that it does. Boil water in the pot, bowl with the stuff goes on top. Think it's somethin' about keeping the heat more even.

Most of them are, even if all they can do is chew on it.

[Her gear's still got teeth marks, after all. As for the chocolates, well, Lightning's shaking her head. Flustered? Oh, yes, she still is.]

It can be something else, but...there's a tradition here, where you give chocolates to the people you care about. I didn't want to just go out and buy them.

[Lightning makes a "hmm" sound in the back of her throat, glad beyond measure that he's remembered despite that stewing argument that was left between them, and it makes her smile wide enough to show the smallest hint of teeth.]

I'd like that.

[Well, he won't have to wait for very much longer. Once they've finished with this, she can think of a few things she'd like his "help" with. As it is, she still hasn't taken her hands off his shoulders. Doesn't seem to really want to, either.]

Determination works better on people or monsters than it does on a stove, though. Only so much you can do against one of them.

[She does take it as a compliment, though. It's Coop, after all, and he doesn't seem the type to insult.]

[That...makes some sense. Kind of. It makes Lightning shake her head as she starts mixing things together, though. At least this she can manage.]

Easier to kill a Behemoth than do this stuff...

[Yes, she means that. Even after they had to run from several Behemoths or end up gutted and bleeding on the ground thanks to those stupid saw things. Give her a monster to kill and she's golden. Have her cook and you're smoked.]

[ And the pot is on the stove and starting to heat. Fang grins at Lightning, only half-sympathetic with that comparison. ]

Bit simpler, I'll give ya that. But it ain't like you chose the easiest thing to make.

[Fang would have normally earned herself a look for that grin, but as it is, Lightning only shrugs a bit and continues to mix. She gets it, she gets it.]

Like I said, it's important. Nothing important is ever easy.

[Well. Other than some battles. But they were together with others in those so it's different.]

[He leans into that slight hint of teeth and chases it with mouth and tongue, pulling her into a heated kiss. It's been a while since they've been so affectionate, and he's rather enjoying himself.

Alas, even in his currently fuzzy state, he realizes all good things must end. He parts from her, a bit unhappily, to turn his attention to the stove.]

You could take care of assembling the ingredients-- [She's precise, she can definitely take care of that.] --and I'll handle melting the chocolate.

[That actually requires some knowledge.

His hands around still on her waist, oops.]

[ She can't help herself. Lightning, the cool, competent soldier, is currently struggling trying to make chocolates for her boyfriend. It's sweet, and both totally like Lightning and completely different than anything Fang's seen from her before. ]

Course not. Still doesn't mean it's gotta be life or death.

[Fights with kitchen supplies are one thing. Has he burnt nearly everything he's cooked? Because she has.]

Something like that. My sister banned me from our kitchen after she learned how to cook.

[Well, this is what nearly a year and a half out of combat does to a girl. And falling in love helps, too, as do the good vibes. This is the Claire Lightning might have been, if life hadn't happened. Maybe.]

Maybe not, but it feels that way sometimes.

[Normally, a kiss this heated would catch her off-guard and leave her startled because he doesn't do this kind of thing normally, but that heat in her belly is making her act instead of react. And so she kisses him back with just as much passion, lifting her hands to get a better grip on his head and pull him in closer.

But, just like him, she realizes that all great things must end and only makes a tiny moue in protest when they part. The faster this is finished, the faster they can get back to the more important things....if he lets her go or she steps away. Which she doesn't want to do but does anyway, measuring off the ingredients as Spark does his Pika-laugh, having watched the whole thing. Silly trainers.]

I should have had Serah teach me how to do this, huh?

[That tiny pout of unhappiness when they part...oh, but that hits all of his buttons, hello. But before he can go back on his resolution and kiss her again, she's out of his arms and at the cutting board. Resigned, he moves to the stove and the dark chocolate tablets there. At her comment, he hums with amusement.]

I wouldn't exactly call this an essential skill. We're not really chocolate people, you and I.

[And yet, here they are, making some. Not that he can complain, really. He glances at the recipe book: truffles, chocolate and lavender. Sounds simple enough. While the water in the double boiler (okay, let's be honest--a saucepan with another saucepan on top) comes slowly to a boil, he works on chopping the tablet into even bits.]

[It takes a lot of her willpower to not move back into his arms after a few minutes, that fire in her belly raging like a wild thing even as she focuses on getting the right measurements. Because she's determined to get at least this right, if nothing else kitchen related. Still, she shakes her head at his amused sound, looking at him over her shoulder.]

I know that, but I was talking about actually knowing how to cook. This would be a lot easier if I knew how.

[Well, knew how to cook without burning everything that ended on a burner. She'd read cookbooks and taken the occasional class, but none of it stuck. She was just unlucky with the thing and she was okay with that. Especially if it meant leaning some weight against Leon as he chops that chocolate and she works on the rest. She's almost clingy, by her standards, but she doesn't care. Not now.]
