There was a casualty to the bombing yesterday. A boy named Danny Fenton was mailed a bomb, and Cobra Commander has threatened to take us out for getting in his way. He doesn't know the Corps exists, but be on your guard regardless. Don't handle anything suspicious and avoid traveling alone at all costs until we can deal with him and whoever else he may be working with. Avoid mentioning us in public, as well. We'll need every advantage we can get for as long as we have it.

[Anyone who seeks Lightning out today will find her in her room at the Inn, flitting between a pad of paper on the desk and the bag she's packing. The paper is covered with notes that are easy to read and the bag is smartly packed, so it's a sharp contrast to Lightning who looks a bit...frazzled in comparison to her normal self. Someone seems just a bit out of her element for some reason.]

We may not get much. If he hit his head after the initial blast, his memory may not be as clear as it could be. Who knows if that affected anything.

Whatever we do get could still be useful. I should also point out that even if his memories are damaged, there are ways to bring them to the surface.

I'm not saying it won't. I'm just saying we should be prepared to find another way if we can't get anything that can help from his memories. It won't help to have our only plan fail before it gets out the gate.

It's not our only plan, Lightning, but our first. I can give him a call in a few days and see what I can glean from him.

In the meantime, I think it would be a good idea to keep some kind of documentation on confirmed Rockets and what we know about them as well as come up with a strategy on how to deal with them on a personal level. I know a lot of people, you and me included, like to get involved whenever they make themselves known to the Network.

He's in Ecruteak, if you'd prefer to do it in person. I don't think he'll be leaving the Pokemon Center for a while.

The only person who's been confirmed to be a Rocket is Cobra Commander. Other than him, unless your source has come through with information, we don't have any other people to confirm or suspect.

Then he's first on our list. He seems to consider himself the leader, but in addition to being admittedly dangerous he's also arrogant and paranoid. It's possible we could make him slip up with information if we play our cards right.

So long as we don't give him enough reason to think there's more than a handful of people standing against him and Team Rocket. Wouldn't do us any good to have them all come after us now.

We're supposed to have someone inside, but they haven't gotten us any information or even contacted us since the squads were formed. [Which is making her wonder if they've got a problem. A really big one, at that.]

The same way we get in touch with anyone else, but there's no way to be sure if the line is secure and we won't blow their cover by doing it. I doubt Team Rocket handles traitors with a light touch.

[Oh, she's fine with being questioned because she's still re-learning how to lead. It's just that when her instinct is questioned that she has a problem.]

There wasn't any time to come up with that. They were already in Team Rocket when we founded the Corps, so they couldn't stay to be handled properly without someone catching onto something.

I think so. We would have heard something by now if Team Rocket was recruiting people after they arrived.

I'm not sure. Ven and I weren't involved in recruiting them; we only knew to contact them when the squads were formed because we had a list left behind by the person who started this.

[And his notes were, sadly, not that extensive. She can't fault Merlin for it, but now...now it's annoying.]

I think our best bet would be to try to adress them openly and urge them to get back to us as soon as they can, in any way possible.

The only question would be how to do it without arising any suspicions. I get the feeling that some people are already being watched to see if they're threats to Team Rocket's goals.

[And Etro knows she's already painting a target on her own back, so who's to say others haven't done the same?]
