The 4th Storm [4th Wall Four; Video/Action for Olivine Pokemon Center]

[Normally there would be some kind of comment from Lightning about this, being that she currently has her memories of this being the fourth time things have gone to chaos in a handbasket, but instead of that, her gear feed is focused on something else in the Center room she still occupies; something that Sen is pawing at in curiosity. It appears to be a regular old Clefairy doll, but the moment that Sen gets close enough to sniff it, it giggles and transforms into something else entirely. Something that sends Sen skittering back in surprise and has Lightning blinking.

Not that she has time do much of anything about it, though; the creature is already forming pink bubbles and launching them everywhere, bouncing on one and sending the rest bouncing across the room, walls and ceiling included. Sen immediatly starts yipping in amusement, chasing and popping bubbles, while the Skitty that had been on Lightning's lap does the same. The creature continues to giggle and make more bubbles for the two mons to chase, and Lightning? Well. She just smiles and watches for a bit. It could be a lot worse, right?

Definitely could be a lot worse, especially since the creature is floating in front of Lightning's face now, blowing a small bubble that pops right in Lightning's face and makes her jump, soft amusement now replaced by a most definite lineface as the creature nearly falls over itself laughing, Sen and the Skitty doing the same no matter the looks she gives them. Anyone coming in for a visit is likely to get the same treatment, so watch out. At least it's friendly, though! That's good, right? ....Right?]

That's what I'd thought too, but I haven't noticed any anomalies since I've been here and I haven't seen any more gates either.

[It's all still new to her sure, but she does know how to learn.]

This might not be connected to the gates at all, even if this world seems to act like a paradox itself. It's a separate world all on its own, separate from the timeline we were travelling.

[You know you're also on a separate plane of existence when your nearest Chocolina isn't anywhere in sight. /uh]

Don't bother trying. People have been here for years and they haven't figured it out yet, either. A couple of days won't help you with it.

Years, huh? So this place does exist out of the timeline.

And here I thought we finally found you. Guess not.

[Doing what the future me told you, you mean. The one who undoubtedly hit her head a few too many times whilst in Valhalla, because that was a terrible plan. Look at how it ended!]

Maybe, maybe not. It could be that people that disappear get swept out of the timeline and into places like this instead of the future, or wherever it is you think I am.

[So, basically, it was all your fault? Oh right, future you. Or Caius. Or Etro. How did we even get into this mess.]

That sounds similar to the Void Beyond. Serah and I end up in it sometimes, lost in time somewhere. Sometimes we're in a place where it looks like it could be Valhalla, but it's not. Or the Serendipity or the Coliseum. If this is a part of the Void Beyond though, it should still have traces of the culture of our world.

[He crosses his arms, watching the pokemon.]

I suppose the taming monsters part is familiar. Similar to the same power you gave Serah that allows us to tame them to help us fight. The concept is similar. So maybe you're right, maybe we're not too far off from that.

[Wrong place, wrong time, and terrible luck. Messy messy. Also, the "gave Serah the power to tame monsters" thing gets a very odd look from Lightning. One that wonders if Noel is all together up there. Did he bonk his head on the way in or something?]

...Other than that, there's no connection between this world and Pulse or Cocoon, unless you count that they both have cities and wilderness areas. I doubt this place has anything to do with any Void.

She's right. Everything I've seen since I've been here makes me think that this world isn't related to ours even slightly.

[There came a point in time where Serah basically went "Oh well Lightning's here and that's good enough for me", which probably means some rather dire things for their ending potential anyway.]
