034 [video; Locked to the PGC]

soggypastry[Evening, people of the Corps. Have a Lightning on your screens tonight, with the howling roar of the blizzard right behind her. She doesn't look too good, hair pinned away from a too-flushed face, but her voice is even and strong.]
As soon as this blizzard's blown over and the holidays have passed, I need everybody in Goldenrod as soon as possible. You've heard by now that the Radio Tower is still being held by Team Rocket, and we're planning to take it back. [a pause as she swallows hard and inhales, then:] But in order for this to work, we need everybody here so we can plan squads to cover our weaknesses instead of leaving holes in our defense. We're only going to get one shot at this before they start preparing for an attack instead of leaving the doors open, so we have to make this count.
[Her eyes narrow slightly now, before she sighs.]
I'm not saying this is going to be easy. Chances are people are going to get hurt, both on our side and theirs, but you were all warned about that when you signed up for the Corps. If you think you won't be able to do this, for whatever reason, say something now and we'll move on without you. We don't have room for sympathy this time.

[They all signed up for danger, true, but there's a lot of risk in that original plan that they could do without.]
We could go in groups. Make a sweep and get out. Give everyone an area to work on and keep it as clean as possible.

[No risk, no reward. Rocket's not going to play nice no matter what they do and he knows that. Still, she'll take it under consideration for the meeting next month.]
Riku said there were six floors to the tower, and there's twenty-one of us still in the Corps. We'd have had to split up into groups, anyway. It's more a matter of figuring out who goes on what group to get the most done than anything else on that front.
[She doubts it'll be clean, though. Figures she'll be running a group of less than 21 people when it comes down to it.]

Group sizes could be done in proportion to how much there is on every floor. I'd suggest gathering recounts from the people who broke in before they start forgetting what they saw, if you haven't already. Maps, too.

[Granted he couldn't know that, but...] There hasn't been a chance to ask them what they remember, and I doubt we could find any maps for the place. They wouldn't house them at the Centers.
[Especially after the Mutations...Goldenrod's Center took a beating that time. Any paper maps that were there would be gone.]

Ask around. There might be records kept of its interior and construction from the time it was first built. When it comes to the others, don't wait too long to ask them.

Date: 2012-12-26 10:26 pm (UTC)And yes. It was priorities. She's just aware of the limitations blocking those priorities. It's hard to talk to a guy dealing with a terribly ill friend, so no. She's not going to try that, and she's continually trying Ven and Terra's gears but they're also not answering. Limitations, not a skewed priority list. She'd say as much if he'd commented, but as it is, she simply nods.]
I'll do what I can. [a shrug, seemingly the picture of nonchalance despite her fever-born flush.] But considering the storms and the holidays, we have time. Doesn't the saying go haste makes waste?
[Though considering her own experience with the Haste spell...she's unsure of that.]

Someone also said that wasting time must be the greatest prodigality. There's quite a balancing act in the compromise between the two.
[Still, he doesn't doubt that she'll manage, and so moves on, now frowning slightly.]
Is that a normal fever or side-effects from poisoning?

Date: 2012-12-26 11:06 pm (UTC)And yes, there is a priority in ignoring it. She's definitely trying her level best to ignore it and push on, no matter what her friends may be saying to her.]
There's a balancing act with just about everything in this place. You get used to it.
[Training and rest, work and play, movement and staying in one city. Getting close to others and having your heart ripped out when they leave. Balance is key so you don't tip over. She's still learning a few of the finer points.
At least she's gotten better at it then when she arrived, because she's still nonchalant when she answers his question.]
Side effects. If you got any cookies from a stall in Goldenrod or from an anonymous sender, don't eat them. [disgusted sound.] We don't need more people getting sick.
