[Morning, Johto. Enjoy your very early morning wake up call. No, seriously, it's early. The sun's not even up-early. Lightning normally sleeps through this time of day, so why is she on the network? ...Well, she's not exactly on it by choice. Her Pokemon have the gear again, and it's showing that a nurse is trying to stop a very pale and rather shaky Lightning from leaving the Center, but considering she's dressed and with a pair of Lucario's at her side, she's not going to be stopped. At all.]

Miss Farron, if you'll just calm down--

Calm down? I just spent the past six hours puking my guts out while you ran around like headless chocobos trying to fix a problem that shouldn't have happened, and you expect me to calm down? [She scoffs at that, moving to shove past, but the nurse bars her passage yet again.]

Miss Farron, the poison is still affecting your body. If you'd sit down and let us help-

[Now Lightning snarls, and it's still rather intimidating despite looking like she's going to fall at any second.]

Help? Like when you somehow didn't notice someone go into my room in the middle of the night and let this happen? I don't need your help. I can handle this myself.

[The nurse aims to protest again, but Lightning doesn't listen and she goes around, hobbling out of the Center on crutches while not looking back even as the feed shorts out with a startled "Pika!". It never comes on again, but those who go out looking for her will find her on the porch of Minnie's house, sitting on one of the chairs with her head in her hands, that pair of Lucarios and a Pikachu nearby so she isn't alone. She really doesn't look well, either, so their concern is probably warranted.]

[ooc: due to plottings, Lightning spent the night badly poisoned and is now rather freaked out because, well, no idea who did it! :3 My thanks to both Cobra-mun and Kimblee-mun for this plot, it's been fun!]

The Center, sometime after midnight, and someone put something into my IV. The nurses aren't sure what it was, but the only antidote that worked was one for Pokemon based toxins.

[She's...grateful for that calm, actually. Enough people have been freaking out on her already and that does not help her regain her wits at all.]

What were its effects? I'm only a few hours away from the Poison-type Gym; with the right information, they might be able to identify it.

Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, a fever, and a sensation of pain all over my body. It was exactly the same as the other types of poison I've experienced, just a lot stronger.

[It was seriously just a case of "badly poisoned". Not that the nurses told her that, and not that she knows. It could have come from anywhere.]

Could that IV have been manipulated by a Pokémon, or only by a human?

[...He actually doesn't know what an IV is, that's a minor detail at the moment.]

Only humans. A Pokémon could reach it, but even a Psychic type would have trouble getting anything into it without tearing it open and making a mess. It would have had to have been a person putting the poison in.

Does the Center take note of all its employees and visitors at any given time?

[If it does not stop him from breaking limbs, it counts as minor.]

Employees have to clock in, but visitors can come and go as they please while visiting hours are open. This happened after everyone had to go home, but if it was a visitor, they'd have had to sneak past the nurse at the front desk to get to my room. [frown.]

Which means the chances are higher that it was someone working here.

They could also have entered through the window, or stayed hidden in the Center until the middle of the night. Was anything else in your room disturbed?

Nothing. And none of my Pokemon woke up, either. We all slept through it, so whoever did this knew exactly how they'd react and at what time I'd be asleep. I don't think a random person hiding until the nurses turned their backs would have had that kind of intel.

[And if they do, she's going to go straight to Ilex and hide. For like...a month.]

And the chances of it being a random attack are too low to be worth considering.

[She could come hide with him in Cinnabar Volcano! ...Getting lost there and second degree burns sadly not optional.]

Not really. Someone could have tampered with an IV when they were being made, and there may not have even been a set target, but...[headshake] The odds are pretty high that it was deliberate.

[Especially considering...things. ...Yeah maybe she will go to Cinnabar and hide in there with him! She can live with burns!]

Yet a normal Center employee would have no reason to wish you harm.

No, but I can think of a few people who would. And since it's easy enough for anyone to get a job here, they wouldn't have had any trouble getting to me.

[Indeed. Up until Odin gets jealous, at any rate.]

You'd think healers would choose new employees more carefully, considering the number of ill people they treat.

[It'd merely have to be something Lightning can't ride. Thus, Odin stays relevant.]

The natives do a lot of things that we think shouldn't happen. This being one of those things can't be surprising at this point.

It shouldn't be, considering how long we've been here. [sigh.] But I guess this place is always going to have ways of surprising us, no matter how long we're here.
